Biodegradable, phosphate and enzyme free, water rinsable surface active cleaning agent and radioactive decontaminant. A 2% to 5% solution is adequate for the majority of cleaning applications. Increasing solution strength, heating the solution or use in an ultrasonic cleaning bath will greatly reduce the cleaning time. Not suitable for use on non-ferrous metals, notably aluminum and zinc, or on polycarbonate. Concentrate pH 13.0, 10% solution pH 11.9, 2% solution pH 10.7.Ideal for laboratory, medical and specialised industrial cleaning applications. The leading surface active cleaning agent/radioactive decontaminant, for laboratory, medical and industrial applications. Supplied as a liquid concentrate, for dilution with water. For “manual” cleaning, or for use in an ultrasonic cleaning bath. PROPERTIES: Biodegradable*, phosphate-free, Bactericidal**, non-flammable and totally rinsable. APPEARANCE: Milky white, non-viscous liquid, having faint odour. METHOD OF USE: Prepare a 2% to 5% solution of Decon 90 with water. Fully immerse the items to be cleaned and soak for 2 to 24 hours, depending upon the degree and tenacity of the soiling. Problem contaminants can be treated by increasing the solution strength. Cleaning time can be reduced by heating the solution (40°C to 50°C) or using in an ultrasonic cleaning bath. The cleaned items must be rinsed thoroughly as soon as they are removed from the cleaning solution, and dried. We recommend three agitated rinses in water to ensure removal of all traces of contamination and cleaning agent. PACKAGING: Supplied in 1 liter, 5 liter and 20 liter high density polyethylene containers, with tamper-evident, screw-on caps. APPLICATIONS: For cleaning and/or decontaminating glassware, ceramics, rubbers, plastics, stainless steel and ferrous metals. Being alkaline, DECON 90 is NOT suitable for use on non-ferrous metals, notably aluminum and zinc, or on polycarbonate. FORMULATION: An emulsion of anionic and non-ionic surface active agents, stabilising agents, non-phosphate detergent builders, alkalis and sequestering agents, in an aqueous base. Decon 90 does NOT contain Phosphates, Enzymes, EDTA/NTA or Chlorine Bleaches. *Ready Biodegradability by OECD 301E (ISO method 7827 - 1986 (E)). **Decon 90 satisfies the criteria in BS EN 1040 1997 for bacterial activity. For critical applications, use demineralised water throughout.
