Thermo Scientific™ ONPG (o-nitrophenyl-β-D-galactopyranoside)
Preferred colorimetric beta-galactosidase (b-Gal) substrate for ELISA applications.
Brand: Thermo Scientific™ 34055
Description
Thermo Scientific™ Pierce ONPG Substrate is the preferred colorimetric substrate for ELISA applications involving β-galactosidase (β-Gal) as the reporter enzyme.
ONPG (ω-nitrophenyl-β-D-galactopyranoside) is the preferred colorimetric substrate for ELISA applications involving β-galactosidase (β-Gal) reporter enzyme. The enzyme-substrate reaction yields a yellow product with an absorbance maximum at 420nm but whose intensity is also very high at 405nm (matching a common plate reader filter set).Highlights:
- Product formed is completely soluble
- High extinction coefficient at 405nm
- Substrate yields a yellow product that is easily detectable in the visual range after stopping the reaction with 1M sodium carbonate
